Should you drill a hole in the bottom of the catch basin? To let the standing water out.

Love how they use a standard hard Tee fitting for a horizontal change of direction. A Wye (A Combination Y, or TY - NOT a Sanitary Tee) would be the correct fitting here, to reduce friction and turbulence.

Other than going through hard-pan I have found that using just a regular trash pump (mud pump) to be preferrable over pressure-washer pump for jetting my own shallow well.

Idk what your calling a trench. A trench isnt 8" deep. Frost line is at 18" you need that skinny shovel to get a deeper trench without going extra wide to fit the wide shovel. Obviously depends on what your doing. Both have their place.

Any further hints on how to dig a 3 to 8 foot deep ditch along a foundation wall?

Is this run off your sandpoint well? Is it possible to irrigate continuously with one?

How does this work if the area that floods is right next to a garage foundation? 2.5 feet to be exact. In this scenario, would a French drain be better? Thanks!

TY. This was titled French Drain which assumes it captures ground water coming up. These have no holes. Are we supposed to put holes into the bottoms of the blue pipe? How far apart and what size?

Add in some bentonite and you hole will stay open. I would save the mud pump after 20 ft because unless you have massive amounts of water you will run out quickly. I’m in south Florida and 10-15’ down is a coral shelf. It’s about 2’ thick. I made a drill bit out of metal conduit and got through. In the end I only got to 27’ because no matter how much water I pumped down it just disappeared. It turned out to be enough. Installed in 2013 and have never run out. Nice clean water with no smell.

Must Read! Thank you very much for showing these. I did all of that including taking the toilet out. No, I didn't find any toy or object. Instead, I found nearly 1" thick of calcium buildup and large at the last turn of the toilet drain. That was what slowed the flow. So, I chiseled it out and the toilet works great now. Well, that is a 20y old toilet. Come to think of it, I used chlorine tablets for this toilet, not others in the house. Only the one in the master bath had this problem. After asking Google Gemini(AI), it confirms calcium buildup. So, don't use chlorine tablets in the toilet water tank.

Nice video. I use 2 atrium grates inside a trough in front of our garage doors. We have negative grade and it's all surface water. Have both lines running into an M98. It does amazingly well but last hard rain it became a tad overwhelmed and began draining into the inside garage drain. We had to plug the original drain inside the trough since it used to all go into our sanitary line. Won't pass a dye test now...

I thought that you needed to put casing down below where you stopped well point to keep the sand from collapsing around the well point. Where did you get the tank you pumped water from?

That interior couple made from cutting a small piece. You should also cut off about an inch of it or so , so that inside the pipe there won't be an overlap of the coupler piece with itself. This will fit even better inside the two pipes that are being coupled.

Wow very good area no rock ledge's to go threw no gravel to fight neather! I have seen this near the coastal bay areas a lots when I was doing seismic work we drilled up to a hundred feet so very easy! Different areas you will need a rig for shure! Anyway we all know that also!

This is a great solution but only if the problem is surface water not draining through hardpan. Sometimes the problems is ground water itself.
